This specification covers a titanium alloy in the form of forgings and forging stock.These products have been used typically for parts requiring high strength and toughness and good creep resistance up to 1000 mD F (538 mDC), but usage is not limited to such applications.Certain processing procedure and service conditions may cause these forgings to become subject to stress-corrosion cracking; SAE ARP 982 recommends practices to minimize such conditions.
