Applies to most types of luminaires operating on voltages not exceeding 1000 V. The application of these requirements to a particular type of luminaire is defined in the appropriate section of Part 102 of the standard.

Replaced by BS EN 60598-1:1993 but remains current for use in conjunction with other standards.
