Objectives of the presentation include: introduction to the Clean Water Act (CWA); TMDL basics; CWA/TMDL vs. Safe Drinking Water Act (SDWA)/Source Water Assessment Plan (SWAP); and discussion of drinking water issues such as protection vs. restoration, spills vs. ongoing sources, eutrophication and pathogens, MCLs vs. water quality standards, disinfection byproducts, and endocrine disruptors.
