Every water utility is confronted with the responsibility of maintaining public firehydrants along with the corresponding need to maintain adequate records.This paper presents a case study starting with the development of a request forproposals based on implementation strategies desired by the utility'smaintenance managers. The desired software program would be incorporatedlater into a water and sewer information management system as one of manymodules addressing the spectrum of utility operations and maintenance.
