This paper provides a case study of how to customize the distributed-controlsystem (DCS) at a water treatment plant (WTP). At the Cleveland Division of Water(CWD), the DCS in the Crown Water Treatment Plant was tweaked to enhance its abilityto comply with requirements of the Interim Enhanced Surface Water Treatment Rule(IESWTR).
