The last two years have brought a number of legislative and regulatory changes at the local, state, and federal level that will have a very positive impact on water efficiency in the future. Several of these regulations have been summarized in this paper. The texts of several of the regulations, along with additional supporting materials, are included as appendices to this study. They include: Maryland Clean Energy Incentive Act; Proposed Changes in Tier Levels for Clothes Washers; Seattle Energy Code Requiring Efficient Commercial Clothes Washers and Limiting Single Pass Cooling; Texas SB2; and, Seattle "Everyone Can Conserve" Rate Structure and Low Income Program.
