This paper in outline format discusses DeKalb County, Georgia's, efforts and successes in identifying, measuring and reducing lost water. Over the ten years from 1989 to 1999, the annual lost water was reduced by about seven percent of the water pumped into the distribution system. Methods used are basically logical analysis of data from DeKalb County's experience and applying guidance from other studies and research in the industry.
