This paper presents work conducted on a hydrogen peroxide/ultraviolet irradiation (H2O2/UV) process modeling software package. The software is able to predict the performance of an H2O2/UV process under different water chemistry and operational condition and thus provides a good design tool for the advanced oxidation process. With the knowledge of reaction mechanisms, it is also able to predict the fate of byproducts in the H2O2/UV process. The authors are working on the automatic generation of the reaction mechanism and the basic methodology is presented. The software package, entitled AdOx(TM) , was developed for predicting the performance of the Advanced Oxidation Process (AOP) that uses hydrogen peroxide and ultraviolet irradiation (H2O2/UV). It is designed for the Microsoft Windows environment with a graphical user interface (GUI) that consists of a Microsoft Visual Basic to maximize user-friendliness. Includes 3 references, figures.
