The City of Austin, Texas, Water and Wastewater Utility has implemented aweb-based system for managing capital improvement projects. The system replaced atool that provided a high degree of functionality, but was not easily supportedwith hundreds of project managers. The web-based system, called eCAPRIS, providesall the functionality of the previous tool, with improved performance, ease ofmaintenance, and scalability to thousands of primary and casual users indepartments city-wide.
