This study investigated the presence and/or removal of biofilmsin a water distribution system while injecting phosphates in conjunction with proper disinfection. The goal of the study was to examine the effect of phosphate on the removal of biofilm in the presence of chlorine. Specifically, the study investigated the effect of orthophosphate and a few different polyphosphates on biofilms that had been established on plastic coupons. Includes 3 references, figures.
