This standard applies to flat or curved safety glazing used in road vehicles, especially for windscreens. This standard specifies methods of determining the optical (angular) deviation and refractive power of safety glazing materials; these parameters serve as a measure of the optical distortion of the glazing. In addition, the methods described here provide a quick overview of the optical properties of large areas of safety glazing.
